It’s true when life throws us a lemon we need to make lemonade. What we don’t realize is that it becomes part of our
testimony. And a test of our willingness to overcome those obstacles. Remember, it’s been spoken, “Our Creator only
gives us what we can bear.”
We can say (too) that is the beauty of life, and its survival to break through the brokenness. When feeling down and out
from all that stuff that gets in our way, it weighs heavy on our hearts. Being burdened “with that heavy heart” can have
a person feeling sad and depressed. But, that’s okay as long as we don’t continuously live inside that broken space.
Nevertheless, there’s beauty in brokenness . . . one that shines like gold. And the beauty of it all is “no need to look
hard.”
Every one of us has encountered some form of brokenness in our past that brought grief. We may have grieved
from the varied relationships of brokenness (e.g., the heart, loss of loved ones, divorces, finances, health issues, bad
choices and the list go on). Regardless of its form, it took us into a dark space. And no one can tell another how long
the recovery process for healing will take. All that we know it’s different for everyone, and that shattered moment of
brokenness portrays a belief there is no going back. How many times have you been in pieces and left feeling destroyed
and damaged? Think about it? Personally, I’ve been too many times to count. Seemingly, I’ve experienced a degree of
brokenness from them all: the heartaches to the losses to the divorces to the finances to the health issues, even
though bad choices. So you see, “I don’t have to imagine that dark space. I’ve lived there over and over and over.” And
each time if it was not my journaling that brought me through, it was the sound and touch of music.
Broken hearts + broken people = broken relationships. It’s never too late to mend the brokenness. Enjoy the moment and
embrace the period of healing. Sure journaling has its space inside the healing world. Yes, there’s a magnitude of
the healing power that gooshes out when it comes to sound music. It plays a deeply spiritual role in our
lives. Don’t deprive yourself of its powerful works. To find your way through the brokenness, listen to either of these
beautiful lyrics.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the rights to this music, but too beautiful not to share.
